Thanksgiving in Vietnam –
Thanksgiving Dinner cooked in camp and taken out to the field for the soldiers. Thanksgiving dinner in a foxhole was probably not what these soldier had in mind, but the Army did all they could to make these soldiers in-country feel at home. With their families back home, our soldiers fought together and of course, celebrated Thanksgiving together, creating their own version of a family. The Army family, the men and women who serve our country, and their families share a common bond of sacrifice and service that many do not know.
The Army Heritage and Education Center would like to wish all service members and their families a Happy Thanksgiving. Soldiers have served our country throughout our history and have missed many Thanksgivings back at home. Thank you for the service you provide to our country.
