Authorities destroy cameras to prevent account of raid…

When critics warn about the dangers of police militarization, this is what we\’re talking about. You’ll see the raid team, dressed in battle-dress uniforms, helmets and face-covering balaclava hoods take down the family’s door with a battering ram. You’ll see them storm the home with ballistics shields, guns at the ready. More troubling still, you’ll see not one but two officers attempt to prevent the family from having an independent record of the raid, one by destroying a surveillance camera, another by blocking another camera’s lens.

RAID FILMED: Ankeny Police ‘Traumatize’ Family in IowaANKENY,

IOWA WHOTV: New information regarding the story reported Monday night regarding a search warrant that was executed at a Des Moines home, looking for about $1000 worth of items purchased with a stolen credit card. Ankeny police spokeswoman Captain Makai Echer says officers consider several factors when deciding whether to send officers similar to a SWAT team to a house to serve a warrant, or simply knock on the door.In this case, Echer says, officers looked at suspect’s criminal histories and whether there could be firearms in the home. Of the three suspects that were present in the home, one has a violent arrest record for two assaults about 13-years ago and a domestic assault.Another suspect did have a permit to carry a weapon. Echer would not comment on whether that played a role in the decision. She would also not comment on whether it was appropriate for a police officer to rip a security camera from the front of the house after officers had already entered.

The full statement is as follows:

The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America. I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin.

Since the jury decided that the tragedy was a result of justifiable self defense, the “future tragedies” will not be the attacker but the attacked. Does that sound better to anyone other than attackers, muggers, rapists, thieves and/or wannabe tyrannical government?

Yeah I know adding government was redundant to the prior description of what government has become, but, I’m going to leave it there.

Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents with the help of the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department raided the Zen Healing Collective and Alternative Herbal Health Services medical marijuana dispensaries in Hollywood, California on March 15, 2011.

The warrants served were federal and law enforcement took one individual into custody, which may result in arrest.

Agents did not want to speak on camera but spokesperson for the DEA Sarah Pullen gave this statement to Reason.tv:

“The DEA, with the assistance of the LAPD and the LASD served federal search warrants at approx. 210 pm this afternoon, March 15, 2011, as part of an on-going investigation. The warrants are federal and under seal by order of the court. Locations were 7800 and 8400 blocks of Santa Monica blvd, West Hollywood. We have one individual in custody right now, which may result in an arrest. Since the warrants are under seal I am unable to discuss any details regarding the warrants or investigation at this time.”

When asked about raids on medical marijuana dispensaries in California in February 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder indicated raids would end on state approved dispensaries.

“What the president said during the campaign … will be consistent with what we will be doing here in law enforcement … What (President Obama) said during the campaign … is now American policy,” said Holder.

Obama told the Medford Mail Tribune in Oregon during the 2008 campaign “I’m not going to be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws on this issue.”

“I think the basic concept of using medical marijuana for the same purposes and with the same controls as other drugs prescribed by doctors, I think that’s entirely appropriate.”

On March 10, Los Angeles voters passed Measure M, or the “pot tax,” which will tax dispensaries by collecting $50 out of every thousand dollars made.

I have been wondering about the seemingly incoherent policies propagating out of the District of Corruption and trying to develop a model of thinking and goals that would be consistent with the insanity. I have had to abandon any thought of citizen or taxpayer well-being or maintenance of American exceptionalism in order to come up with a somewhat consistent model.

The District of Corruption has become, in essence, a wholesale club sized Faculty Lounge that has developed a plan to run the country as a university focused on the welfare of the faculty over the students or the payers of the tuition.

First is the plan to get out of debt seems to be Quantitative Easing III, IV, V, VI, and however many more it takes to make all those outstanding Treasury Bills (and their interest obligations) worthless. The fact that it will impoverish the American citizenry is as Microsoft used to say, “not a bug, but a feature.” It will wipe out the rich as well as the successful and the thrifty, thus putting all citizens’ welfare in the hands of those best qualified to judge a persons worth (no not the free market, that is seen as cruel, unfair and idiotic to the insufficiently rewarded, it must be those with the wisdom of Solomon, the Tenured).

This destruction of the dollar not only gets us out of debt while punishing those so rude to have been more successful in the free market than the new masters, but also sets the stage for the resurgence of America as a “properly structured society.” In other words the serfs need to acknowledge their proper place in the presence of their accredited and credentialed betters.

That brings us to the master stroke. In claiming that the oil companies get a “tax incentive” by writing off business expenses such as depreciation, exploration, and the cost of failed production attempts (things that legitimate costs of doing business in every other business, just bigger numbers in the oil business), the stage is set for the DOE to revoke all leases and nationalize the oil fields. After the dollar has been destroyed and whether the new currency that purchases oil is a “basket of currencies” or the PetroBuck® the wealth in the oil fields of what was previously called the United States will be more than enough to support the proletariat in their virtual slavery while the masters party like Nero. Issuing decrees as the Gods from Olympus (you have to “properly guide” those serfs, dontcha know?).

An admission that Obamacare is a step to a Government run (Single-payer) Healthcare system

I can’t understand how Trade Unions and others like the Mine Workers can stand with government unions. I have sent much of my like in “Right to Work” states and have specifically requested trade union sub-contractors for building projects because I have watched unions like the IBEW train, certify and produce exceptional tradesmen ofttimes working with less than “prime” candidates. To me someone who has gone through a trade union’s training is much preferred over someone simply “licensed” by government. The mining, seafaring and manufacturing unions whose primary objectives are the safety and just treatment of their members are also good organizations. This i not to say I believe in union protectionism. I believe that unions should have to sell their product to the members and their worth to their consumers. “Look for the union label” used to mean higher quality, and it still should.

Government unions (and now the UAW with their cozy relationship and funding running back and forth with corrupticrat politicians) are the ones that draw my ire and the following video sums it up in a nutshell. The Government Unions have become the way to make the taxpayer fund big government politicians at the expense of the taxpayers.

Last year, parents of students in failing California public schools were given a reason to be hopeful when Sacramento politicians passed something called the “parent trigger” law. The way the law works is that if 51% of parents at a failing school sign a petition, they can turn the school into a charter school, replace the staff or simply use the petition as a bargaining chip to initiate a conversation about change.

On December 7, 2010, with help from the non-profit group Parent Revolution, parents of children attending McKinley Elementary in Compton became the first group of parents to pull the parent trigger. Their dream was to transform the school into a Celerity charter school. Instead, the Compton parents were thrust into a prolonged fight with supporters of the status quo: the Compton Unified School District, the teachers’ unions, Gov. Jerry Brown and Tom Torlakson, the newly elected Superintendent of Public Instruction.

This is the story about a group of parents in Compton who are fighting to give their children a better education.
